    Hi EMSA Community,

    Shepparton Training

This week, the EMSA training team visited Shepparton to work with staff from Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority, Murray Local Land Services, Corangamite Catchment Management Authority and Wimmera Catchment Management Authority.

The training combined hands‑on learning with discussions, bringing together practitioners to share experiences, explore EMSA protocols and strengthen best‑practice ecosystem monitoring across the region. It was great to see such strong collaboration and shared commitment to high‑quality environmental monitoring, and we thank all participants for their enthusiasm, expertise and engagement throughout the week.

Thanks to Rebecca Caldwell for the group photo.

Tech update: Transforming EMSA data for your use
Following on from the Tech Update on 20 March, the Long Term Monitoring team is working on new ways to bring Monitor data together so it’s easy to interpret and useful for your projects. The focus is on developing clear, consistent data trends that help reveal changes over time, both for individual species and at the whole‑ecosystem level.

For EMSA partners, this means creating outputs that support project reporting, evidence‑based decision‑making and communication of ecological outcomes. While this work is still in its early stages as datasets come together, we’ll be sharing early examples with the EMSA Data Tools Working Group and the wider EMSA GovTeams community to gather feedback and ensure the outputs meet your needs. Stay tuned!
