    Happy new year!

    Updates this week:

    • Monitor App - Staging vs. Production. Always remember, the Monitor staging environment is for testing and experimentation, and the production environment is where your real monitoring data should go.

    • Data Summaries - Before you queue your collection for submission, be sure to carefully check the data summary to ensure required fields are completed. Once a collection is in the queue waiting to be synced it cannot be edited!

    • App Updates - The tech team are working hard to add features, troubleshoot and improve Monitor. Make sure to update your app when prompted to ensure you benefit from any new features. When you are preparing to go into the field make sure you remember to prepare for offline collections too.

    • Helpdesk Tickets – More Info = Faster Solutions!
      • Need help? The more details you can provide when submitting a Helpdesk ticket, the quicker our team can jump in and fix things. Screenshots and the link to your project in MERIT are always helpful.

    • The best device for Monitor? No phones, please!
      • iOS software (Apple iPhone and iPad) is not supported. Monitor works best on Android devices and computers using Google Chrome. We know phones are convenient, but your app will run much better on a tablet.

    • We’ve recently uploaded Version 2 of many module manuals, including Basal Area, Coarse Woody Debris, Fire Severity, Floristics, Opportune, Plant Tissue Vouchering, Plot Description, Plot Selection and Layout, Recruitment, Targeted Surveys, Vegetation Mapping and Photopoints. Head over to the Module Manuals & Documents page to make sure you have the newest versions on hand.

    • The EMSA Community of Practice # 8 online meeting was held on 11th December 2024. A link to the recording is now available in the Events and Webinars page. The meeting includes presentations from the Decision Support and Analysis (DSA) team from Environment Information Australia and the Long-term Monitoring Program team.
