Floristics module validation rule added to project MERI plans

On 24 February, MERIT successfully released version 4.8. Included in this release is a new validation rule for project MERI plans.

In the Monitoring methodology section of the MERI plan, if any EMSA modules dependent on the Floristics module are selected, it is now a requirement that the Floristics module must also be added to the MERI plan. An error message will appear if the Floristics module is required but has not been selected.

    Determinations tool

The tech team have received feedback from CoP attendees and EMSA users and are busy incorporating this into the development process. The tool is being built with two key use cases in mind; registered herbaria teams and for EMSA-Approved Botanists. Stay tuned for future updates as the tool is being developed. If someone in your team has skills and experience in plant identification, consider applying to become an EMSA-Approved Botanist.

    • For more information about the role of an EMSA-approved Botanist, and how to apply, see the fact sheet and application form on the document download page (under ‘Floristics module’).
